URSB Launches Mass Business Registration Initiative in Western Uganda

The Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) has initiated a significant formalization strategy by launching a mass business registration initiative for the Western Uganda Business Community. The event, held at Hotel Triangle in Mbarara City, drew over 200 members of the business community, local leaders, trade association members, and diverse entrepreneurs.

The initiative aims to streamline the business registration process, promote formalization, and provide accessible registration services to entrepreneurs and businesses in the Western region of Uganda.

Robert Kanusu, the Mbarara North Resident City Commissioner, commended URSB’s efforts, stating that community mobilization initiatives, especially in formalization, would enhance the region’s economic fortunes.

Annie Ninkijuka Katushabe, a member of the URSB Board of Directors, emphasized the initiative’s goal of simplifying the registration process by offering user-friendly procedures and efficient services.

Vincent Katutsi, the Director for Civil Registration, highlighted URSB’s objective to promote compliance with legal and regulatory standards among businesses, ensuring entrepreneurs understand their obligations and benefits as registered entities.

The launch of the mass business registration initiative in Mbarara aims to enhance the business environment in Western Uganda, foster entrepreneurial best practices, and contribute to regional economic growth. Formalized businesses are better positioned to access financing, enter contracts, and participate in activities driving prosperity in the region
