President Museveni Launches National Patriotism Environmental Protection Campaign


President Museveni has initiated the National Patriotism Environmental Protection campaign, aiming to foster environmental conservation and patriotism across Uganda.

The campaign kickoff occurred at Kitebi Secondary School in Rubaga Division, Kampala, where President Museveni expressed his satisfaction with the campaign’s mission to preserve the environment.

During the launch, President Museveni emphasized the significance of safeguarding wetlands, lakeshores, and river banks, stressing that encroachment on these areas is detrimental to the nation’s interests.

Additionally, he highlighted the vital role of patriotism in driving prosperity and development, emphasizing the importance of national identity over tribal affiliations.

President Museveni underscored the need for socio-economic transformation, advocating for education and self-sufficiency as pillars of progress.

Furthermore, he called for an end to fees in government schools, praising Kitebi Secondary School for its cost-effective education model.

First Lady Maama Janet Museveni, also Minister of Education and Sports, commended Kitebi Secondary School for its patriotic efforts and effective implementation of government initiatives.

She emphasized the campaign’s contribution to combating global warming and praised the National Secretariat for Patriotism for promoting love for the country among the youth.

Minister for Presidency, Babirye Milly Babalanda, assured the President of the Office of the President’s support in implementing patriotism activities nationwide, acknowledging the positive impact of Commissioner Helen Seku’s leadership.

Babalanda also appreciated President Museveni’s decision to appoint additional staff in the RDC Office to enhance patriotism coordination efforts.

Overall, President Museveni’s initiative aims to instill a sense of national pride and environmental responsibility among all Ugandans
