Kenya’s Chief of Defence Forces Feared Dead in Helicopter Crash

Kenya’s Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Francis Omondi Ogolla, is reportedly feared dead following a helicopter crash on Thursday in the Sindar area near the border of West Pokot and Elgeyo Marakwet counties. Kenyan media reported that the helicopter caught fire upon crashing, with five passengers losing their lives and three surviving the incident.

The three survivors have been evacuated by another Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) aircraft, according to sources.

No official confirmation has been provided regarding the whereabouts of Gen Ogolla, who is believed to have been on board the helicopter. The identities of the three survivors have not yet been disclosed.
